PHYZIQUE Pte Ltd is a company set up in June 2008 by owner Abraham Nikhil (Nik). The company was set up after he left Fitness First with a dream to start his own company which specialized in providing personalised fitness services such as personal training and boot camps to his clients. The company quickly expanded its services since it has been around.

Here at PHYZIQUE, we believe in empowering people. We want to help you help yourself. We believe that fitness and health should be a lifestyle and not a chore. We come in to your life to best try and find ways for you to reach your fitness goals as smoothly as possible.

My relationship with sports started during my earliest school years, through participations in races and other competitions. Since then, I have determinately continued to make sports a part of my daily routine. Later on I discovered a specific passion of mine; running. With the first, short distance, charity run I participated in, running had won me over. I pursued this activity more seriously than any other previous sports type. From that moment onwards, I’ve intensified my training, especially for marathons.

Going through this journey of setting myself the high goal of running a marathon and staying determined to the cause, I have learned a lot about motivation, determination and the right balance needed for such achievements. This leads me to believe that I can help my clients achieve even the most difficult goals, while also aiding them in obtaining a spiritual and emotional outlet.

This is also my personal philosophy. “Fitness is strength of mind, body and spirit."

A new study confirms what many discovered long ago - strength training plays an important role in ridding the body of extra weight.

Sure, aerobic exercise burns calories, but the body's metabolism quickly returns to pre-exercise levels, usually within 30 minutes or so.

Resistance training, according to the researchers at Johns Hopkins University, leads to increased calorie burning for up to two hours after the workout is over. Unfortunately, because weight training often results in a corresponding increase in weight due to increased muscle mass, many women abandon their strength-training efforts, opting instead for strictly cardiovascular activities. However, researchers suggest combining aerobic exercise with regular strength training for maximum benefit.
